Limmer Education, LLC ("Limmer Education," "we," "our," or "us") operates Ask Dan, an AI-powered educational platform designed to help EMS students and professionals learn, study, and prepare for certification exams.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use Ask Dan. By accessing or using Ask Dan, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

Payment Information

Payments are processed through third-party payment providers. We do not store complete credit card numbers or payment card information on our servers.

AI Processing

Ask Dan uses artificial intelligence technologies to generate educational responses.

AI processing services provided by OpenAI may receive de-identified or obfuscated prompts and responses necessary to generate Ask Dan's educational content.

Ask Dan is an educational product and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional medical judgment, local protocols, or formal EMS training.

Human Review

Authorized members of the Limmer Education team and Ask Dan development team may review user conversations to provide technical support, investigate reported issues, monitor system performance, improve educational quality, and maintain platform safety.

Access to conversation data is restricted to authorized personnel with a legitimate business need and is protected through authentication and access-control measures.

AI Training and Improvement

Ask Dan is continually evaluated and improved to enhance educational quality, safety, and performance.

At this time, user conversation data is not systematically used to train Ask Dan.

If conversation data is used in the future for training, testing, evaluation, or model improvement, Limmer Education will take reasonable measures to remove or obscure personally identifiable information before such use.

De-identified and aggregated data may be used to evaluate system performance, improve educational content, and develop future product features.

Do Not Submit Sensitive Information

Ask Dan is an educational tool.

Users should not submit:

  • Patient-identifying information
  • Protected health information (PHI)
  • Medical records
  • Social Security numbers
  • Financial account information
  • Passwords
  • Government identification numbers
  • Any information that is confidential, proprietary, or legally protected

No Patient Information

Users must not enter patient names, dates of birth, addresses, medical record numbers, photographs, or other information that could identify a patient.

Ask Dan is not designed to receive, store, or process protected health information (PHI) and should not be used for patient care documentation, patient communication, or clinical decision-making.

Data Retention

Conversation history and account data are retained unless deleted by the user or removed as part of an account deletion request.

At this time, conversations are not automatically deleted.

We may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide and improve the service
  • Maintain account records
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes
  • Enforce our agreements

Account Deletion

Users may request deletion of their Ask Dan account by contacting Limmer Education at [email protected].

When an account is deleted, the associated conversation history will also be deleted as part of the account deletion process.

Certain limited system records may be retained to document that an account previously existed. These records do not contain the user's conversation history and are maintained solely for administrative and operational purposes.

Sharing Information

We do not sell personal information.

Data Hosting and Processing

Ask Dan systems and user data are hosted in the United States.

Production systems and backups are currently maintained within AWS infrastructure located in Northern Virginia.

By using Ask Dan, you acknowledge that your information may be stored and processed in the United States.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information.

Security measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS
  • Encryption of stored data
  • Restricted administrative access
  • Authentication-based access controls
  • Infrastructure security controls provided through Amazon Web Services (AWS)

However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Ask Dan is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, applicable law may provide certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
